Hello Ri$h boi, i would like to know you better!

'I'm Joy Dennis ''Ifeanyi'' some guys would call me. The Ri$h Boi is just my stage name. I was formerly known as ''J Pulse'',[I changed it for some fucking reasons]'
the rapper said when asked for an introduction. He let us into his growing up:

How was it like when growing up?

'If I start to tell, It’s been God, all the way! Let me just say 'it wasn't [fuckin] easy!''

What are your influences?

I didn't grow up in such a musical area. Ne'er! All I knew while young was Hymns and Gospel songs[they were dope too].You know, the typical 'Mountain Of Fire' stuff!(laughs) But I remember at age 9 or so I'd glue to the TV by 6pm to watch MTV Base(smiles). That was how I discovered Burna Boy, who I'm a very big fan of today. Seriously, it was this year I started listening to foreign guys. I knew 2pac but I heard his song for the first time this year, same as Biggie, Jay Z, Kanye name them. They've all influenced my style. I respect a bunch of guys like Olamide, M.I., Ycee, Falz, Wizkid, 2baba and Vector Also, Sarkodie, Mr.Eazi. I can't name them all! But if you'd ask, my strongest influence is foreign. Like 2Pac, Biggie, Jigga, Kanye, Rakim, Nas, Eminem down to new guys; Designer, Tyga, Bada$$, and my fuckin' Chance The Rapper [my favorite]. Everyone influenced me including you(smiles) and the fans. Yeah! Shout out to some of my Niqqas too EL Vicker, Oga Micky, Sk Boi.

How about your Educational background? How was it like, any challenges?

(sighs) About that, I'd like to say ,God took control though there were some financial something something(laughs) that wanted to cause some. God took control! But, apart from the money-issue, everything was perfect. I was the best student from my Junior School till I passed out. At JSS3 I was made a 'One-Day Principal' shit! I also passed out as the Senior Prefect [I'm proud of it].I remember having seven or nine A's in SS1 and one of the teachers was like 'this boy is a Genius, he should be a science student But I fuckin' attended Arts stubbornly. I was brilliant at school and the rest is his-story [a pun you know].(winks)

What's your state of origin, are you a Nigerian or?

Ridiculous! I'm a Nigerian and you know it. Oh! You want me to deny? Or my accent shit is fuckin' confusing. I'll try and change it. I'm from one of the prominent families in Nnewi, Anambra State though I have some Yoruba roots too. You know the Yoruba-Igbo thing!

How did you come about your music career?
That's a long story, man. But I'll break the shit down. I say this all the time. At age 9 MTV and STV was my favorite. That was the starting point! I composed my first song, maybe let’s say 2011 or 2012. I'm not sure. Along with my brother, you know[he sings too]. It was titled 'Canoe'. A funny song like that! Then I remember one of my older cousins saying he was featured on Qdot's song[a lie though] and I was like... No! You can never go into that studio to sing you don't have the money young boy's perspective. Late i started understanding the basics and then I was like. Yo man I'll do this music thing and be popular too. That was it!!
Do you have any project(s) you currently working on

Project(s); my debut(s) I'm even surprised at the buzz it garnered when I unveiled the artwork but you know things changed. The transition from 'J Pulse' to 'The Ri$h Boi' changed a lot of things. But the dope is still coming up I'll be giving more details on my social media later. Still I'm working on new projects every time Just yesterday I was examining some instrumentals for writing lyrics. My mix tape also which will be dropping after the track, is also being processed. Numerous projects at hand! Just expect it Move The Freestyle soon I can't really date it because, it’s not a fine girl (laughs).

Where do you think of being in the nearest future?

I Wanna go places! Wanna be rich! Wanna be famous! Every man's dream right? But I have goals bigger than those shit. Like, being an inspiration to the hopeless and uninspired, the voice of the people! You know a revolutionary agent. This generation must be changed and we're gonna' lead this change Not really related to Buhari's!(laughs). But in a some years time I'd be a star. Jah is the key I say that countless times! Grammys, Awards, Airplays, Forbes Rankings, Top 10s. All that thing you know!'
